Rene 41 is an age hardenable nickel base alloy that has very high strength at elevated temperatures, particularly within the range of 650-980oC (1200 to 1800oF).  Required mechanical properties can be tailored by selection of various combinations of cold work and/or heat treatments.  Rene 41 also has good oxidation resistance.

Applications include after burner parts, turbine castings, bolts and other fasteners.

Heat Treatment

Annealed

Age Harden at 760oC (1400oF) for 16 hours and air cool
(after forming) Spring Temper 1. Solution anneal at 1065oC (1950oF) for 4 hours and air cool
2. + Age at 760oC (1400oF) for 16 hours and air cool
  Spring Temper Age Harden at 760oC (1400oF) for 16 hours and air cool
